Welcome to Visitors

Who are we?

The Church Of The First Born Birmingham is a vibrant pentecostal church who welcomes  a wide range of different people, from all ages and different backgrounds. Whoever you are, you are assured a very warm welcome.

We are a Christian church and believe that all can have a relationship with God. We believe this relationship with God is possible because of Jesus (God's only son) who invites us to follow him. We have friendly relationships with other local churches from both traditional and modern backgrounds.

When to arrive:

If it's your first visit then it's probably best to turn up around 10.45am. If you are driving then you'll be pleased to hear that there is plenty of free parking nearby. For directions to reach us please see the Where we meetYou'll be greeted on the door by our welcoming team who will give you some information about the church and notices of forthcoming events.

What to wear:

This is easy. Wear whatever you feel comfortable in. We are an informal church and accept people as they are. There is no need to dress up to try and be someone that you're not. Whether you come as a suited businessman or a freaked-out punk that is fine with us.

What to expect:

For some people going anywhere for the first time can be a bit of a nerve-racking experience. To help avoid any worries here's a quick summary of what you can expect at TCOTFB.

Be reassured, we aren't super-spiritual beings, we all had a 'first day' at church, you'll find we are a friendly and loving bunch, if you don't understand something please ask a member of the welcoming team.

  • We start our meeting at 11:00am  often with about 10 minutes of prayer at beginning.
  • This is then usually followed by vibrant worship. This worship time consists of modern and gospel songs (with guitars, keyboards and drums), anyone can contribute appropriate bible verses and some may bring words of encouragement. We will also have a talk, teaching or preaching from the bible that is relevant and meaningful to our modern lives.
  • Our aim is that whether you are just looking into Christianity for the first time or have been a Christian for many years that you should be encouraged and inspired by the service. We hope that everyone will draw closer to God.
  • We finish our meeting around 1:30pm, with notices keeping us informed of diary dates etc. and then refreshments and informal fellowship where possible.
  • Youth focused ministry is usually incorporated during our services.
  • We also provide a Sunday School takes place every week. We aim to provide a supportive God focused environment, where the Children & Youth of today can feel they matter and are care about. The session may includes:-  Bible Study, Arts & Crafts, Physical indoor/outdoor activities, & more.   All children are welcome.

For those with disabilities:

We aim to be an all-inclusive church. However our resources are limited so we try to provide for our current attendees. If you wish to discuss specific needs please contact us.

Our premises are accessible for those with disabilities. We have reserved parking spaces near the entrance. We do not currently have a loop for the hearing impaired.

Is it just Sundays?

Absolutely not! God is with us all week long and we aim to lead lives pleasing to him.

We're not perfect and we do make mistakes, but we desire to make a positive difference in everything we do.

To further encourage us we have midweek small groups (a small group is simply a meeting usually online via zoom).

Small groups are a great way to get to know others in the church and to be real with each other about everyday living.

If you are just looking for prayer support we currently meet for:

  • Prayer Meeting on Wednesday Mornings 6:00am - 7:00am Online - via ZOOM*
  • Bible Study & Prayer meeting on Fridays 7.30pm - 9:00pm  Online - via ZOOM*
